Playable Races

Technician / Meister

Soul Eater Races Ep1_maka

Meisters are best known for being paired with a weapon, but top-level meisters can fight on their own. The skills of a meister vary from person to person but they all must know how to channel their soul's wavelength. This can either be through themselves or through a weapon. During both these instances, the meister can unleash a variety of abilities. It also seems to be a prerequisite that a meister be physically fit. In fact, nearly all meisters revealed appear to be physically fit.

  • Weapons:
When their soul links with a weapon, they can use them to boost their power tenfold. Without one, they are limited to their own wavelengths to fight

  • Wavelength Bursts:
By sending their soul wavelengths through their body, they can send a pulse through their body to directly slam the target violently.

  • Techniques:
When wielding a weapon, the technician can use several powers and abilities named as techniques each with their own titles. these are usually elementally configured or just plain awesome

  • Soul resonance:
Whilst wielding a weapon, The two can resonate their souls to create the ultimate form. This form can be stacked up to three times to make a very powerful attack

  • Team resonance:
Whilst fighting in a team, technicians can resonate their souls with other team mates to boost all of their powers to a massive level and leap straight into their ultimate resonation form. This is then put into a deadly combo for maximum chaos

Weapons

Soul Eater Races Se0101

Humans with active Weapon genes have the ability to change their entire body into some variety of a weapon. When becoming a weapon, their clothing and everything on their person is carried on into the transformation. After becoming a weapon, the person is seen in his/her human form as some sort of reflection on the weapon and is seen in a completely black space.

Inside their weapon, they seem to be able to have easy access to their souls. Often, in this dark space they are seen without their clothing on, apart from maybe a few details. The Weapons also glow in the color of their souls when inside Weapon Form. This glow is also present when the Weapons are transforming. Some Weapons in their Weapon Form have certain components that move similarly to facial expressions to show emotions and thoughts.

Most Weapons can also transform parts of their body into Weapon Form to enhance lethality in battle, but most are stronger when being paired with a Meister. It seems that transforming parts of their bodies into weapons doesn't affect their clothing either, as Spirit can easily sprout blades from his arms and back without tearing his clothes, and Soul can turn his entire arm into a blade with similar effect.

  • Technician:
When being used as a weapon, their battle power increases greatly.

  • Partial Transformation:
The weapon can change a part of their body into their designated weapon and fight with it. Some are more affective than other though

  • Soul resonance:
Whilst wielding the weapon, The two can resonate their souls to create the ultimate form. This form can be stacked up to three times to make a very powerful attack

Witches

Soul Eater Races Soul_eater6

Witches are powerful beings and the natural enemies of Shibusen, as almost all of them have a destructive nature. Most witches featured in the series are based on a distinct animal and have some of their traits in both their personalities, fighting styles and appearances. Witches are also distinguished by their uniquely-purple soul.

  • Only girls:
It is known that witches are only of the female gender and a male one would be exiled and killed for such an insult

  • Themed Spells:
All witches have spells that are linked to their animal theme and can be very unpredictable.

  • Animal Form:
Witches have the ability to alter into an animal form for an easy escape and to hide. However, they cannot use advanced magic whilst like this.

  • Soul protect:
Witches can seal their souls away so they cannot be sensed by meisters. However, they cannot use spells whilst using soul protect

  • Flight:
Witches have several ways to fly but the easiest is with an actual broomstick

Enchanter

Soul Eater Races Emeth

An Enchanter, or puppet engineer, is the name used to refer to a person who can create Golems. They traditionally wear large brown gloves, so that they can pack in magical power into these and then use them to knead the earth to eventually produce a golem. A large amount of them reside in the village of Loew, where 80% of it's population are considered enchanters. This is a very important place to these people as it is the place where the Oldest Golem was created over 800 years ago by Giriko, under the alias of Enchanter Saw. In the present, it seems that the majority of them have allied themselves with Arachnophobia, most likely due to Giriko's influence within the village.

  • Golems:
Enchanters can mould the ground beneath them to build a Golem of different shapes and sizes. However, brute strength is all their capable of as enchanters do not give any powers to the Golems

  • Brutal Strikes:
The enchanters brown gloves are lined with powerful anodes that allow them to punch very hard, enough to crush the earth beneath them

Immortals

Soul Eater Races Free_Drawing_Power

The Immortal Clan is a group of people, like the name suggests, who are immortal. Being part of the immortal clan grants the person in question an immortal body, in that even significant wounds inflicted to such a body, last only mere moments. They also have witch like powers that allows them to alter their form into animals, however this can only be a werewolf and nothing else.

  • Immortality:
Just by living, immortals cannot be slain. However, anti-demon wavelengths have been known to decrease regeneration speed.

  • Elemental Spells:
Unlike witches, all of the immortals known spells are element based such as fire, water, ice, wind, lightning and earth. (free's other spells are taken from his demon eye)

  • Werewolf Form:
Immortals have the ability, similar to witches, to alter into their animal form. However, this is only into a single form of a werewolf. Whilst in this form, their spell power is reduced but their strength increases to make up for it. Also, the immortals in this form can run three times faster than a human could.

Kishin / Evil Souls

Soul Eater Races Jack_the_Ripper

Kishin are beings created as the final result of a corrupted soul. A soul becomes corrupted when it devours pure human souls to gain power, usually as a means to escape fear. As a result, the person's soul deviates from the path of a human and begins to walk the path of a demon, becoming a Kishin's egg.

Kishin can alter between different races but usually retain their original powers. this means a technician that becomes a Kishin would still have techniques but would have a peculiar Kishin theme.

  • Can be any race:
Any Soul eater related race can become a Kishin and still retain their previous powers

  • Loss of Fear:
All Kishin lose fear completely apart form one single aspect. If that aspect is located and used, the Kishin will become vulnerable to death

  • Fast speed regeneration:
The Kishin are able to regenerate lost limbs almost effortlessly. However, the head and internal organs will not mend

  • Power Thirst:
Kishin have to digest more human souls to keep themselves alive or they will slowly wither away. For every soul eaten, the Kishin's power increases gradually.

Not that it really bothers me that much, but I am quite sure that witches can be male too!
I unfortunatelly have only one example for now and that is Mosquito.
In other cases I would be curious about what you think he is.
